Farewell My Concubine: Play within a Play
Inspired by the iconic Chinese opera and film Farewell My Concubine, I reimagined this tragic tale of heroism, sacrifice, and love through the lens of modern Chinese Comic art. My work portrays the delicate and captivating Yu Ji, including her with traditional Peking opera makeup, highlighting the story's dramatic essence. By merging the classic narrative with contemporary comic aesthetics, this project seeks to retell the story and introduce its rich cultural heritage to a broader audience, emphasizing the theme of life as a play, mirroring the characters' inescapable fates both on stage and in reality.

This project explores diverse artistic styles through the depiction of raccoons in six distinct styles, simplified, decorative, cartoon-like, fantasy-inspired, mechanized, and expressive.
Vector Graphic Illustration: Skatepark Mural
The illustration features a vibrant street mural set in a skatepark, with a raccoon in Joker makeup as the centerpiece. The design includes a skateboard and used spray paint cans beneath the mural, enhancing the urban and edgy atmosphere. Rendered in vector graphics, this piece captures the dynamic energy of street art culture.
Fashion Illustrations: Split 打翻
These series of artworks depicts girls in couture evening dress, rendered in watercolor with stains around the composition, evoking spilled wine or ink, enhancing the noble and refined allure of the dress while adding a sense of narrative intrigue. The blindfolded eyes add an element of mystery, complementing the dress's sophistication and inviting viewers to interpret the story behind the image.
My Childhood Memories: Dreamland
The main design concept is a dreamland. The castle, ferris wheel, carousel are ideas from childhood memories. I would like to convey a wonderful childhood memory through this design, therefore the colour I have chosen is mainly pink which symbolize dream and beauty. I believed that when everyone was a child, many of us always curious and full of expectation about the stars in the sky, this is why I painted the stars in the river and astronaut holding balloons floating in sky. I hope that this picture will also bring out one’s precious memories of his/her childhood.

This whimsical illustration reflects The Body Shop's commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
